Abstract

This exploratory study explored the category construction and mechanism of the communitas experience of glampers through five elements of narrative analysis and the ZMET method. The results showed that glampers formed the metaphorical perceptions of the communitas experience through the dimensions of time, space, people, and objects. results also revealed that the generation mechanism of the communitas situation consisted of a perceptual constructive quadrant model including the field, relationship, and program. we proposed a pathway for transforming glampers' interactive rituals and communitas experiences. These findings provide a new direction for the theoretical construction of glampers and provide insights for the management development of glamping.
