Abstract

To explore the mechanism on insulin sensitization and corpulent‐reducing of Astragalus Polysaccharide(APS).SD rats were randomly divided into four groups: normal control group, APS control group, Type II Diabetes Mellitus(TIIDM) group , TIIDM plus APS therapy group. The protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B(PTP1B) expression of adipose tissue of rats in each group was detected by immunohistochemistry. the PTP1B expression of adipose tissue of rats in each group was weakly positive, and the colour of surrounding part of adipose tissue was light yellow brown. The PTP1B expression of adipose tissue of rats in TIIDM group was obviously higher than that of normal control group by measuring the optical density value. The APS therapy could reduce the PTP1B expression of adipose tissue of rats in TIIDM group to close to normal level. The results of our research showed that the mechanism on insulin sensitization and corpulent‐reducing of APS may be related to increasing the sensitivity of Leptin by suppressing the PTP1B expression
