Abstract

The possibility of controlling the transport processes in thetokamak plasma in the lower hybrid heating (LHH) experiment hasbeen demonstrated. We illustrate experimentally the observedtransport barrier formation initialized by the LHH fordifferent plasma experiment scenarios. First, it was found duringLHH. The next method to trigger improved confinement is acombination of fast current ramp-up with LHH. The mechanisms ofinternal barrier formation have been put forward to explain theobserved regime of improved core confinement. The increasedshear of the radial electric field stimulates the internal barrierformation.
