Abstract
The angular distributions and p-γ angular correlations of the inelastically scattered protons on the first 48Ti excited state in the 4.0–8.5 MeV energy range were measured. The coplanar angular correlations for energies smaller than 7 MeV are in good agreement with the statistical model predictions. To obtain the fit with the experimental angular distributions for 5.65 MeV, it was necessary to include the (p, n) channels in the statistical model calculations. The angular correlations at E p = 7.3 and 8.5 MeV and the angular distribution at E p = 7.06 MeV make evident the presence of the direct interaction. The non-coplanar angular correlations measured in the bombarding energy range 4.0–8.5 MeV are in reasonable agreement with the statistical model predictions.
