Abstract

AbstractDNA methylation is an important regulation mode in epigenetic mechanism. It affects a series of biological processes by regulating gene expression. As a cell population with self-renewal, high proliferation and multidirectional differentiation potential, the differentiation and regeneration process of stem cells must be accurately regulated. DNA methylation plays an important role in the maintenance, differentiation and regulation of stem cells. This paper reviews the latest research progress of DNA methylation in embryonic stem cells, pluripotent stem cells and adult stem cells, reviews and prospects the potential biological functions and regulatory mechanisms of DNA methylation in stem cells, and provides some references for clinical diagnosis, treatment and drug development in the future.KeywordsMethylationDemethylationStem cellsTET
