Abstract

Summary form only given. Mechanism of charge transport in conducting polymers have created a lot of interest among physicists, chemists and material scientists due to its fascinating properties useful for many device application The polyaniline family of polymers has recently been the subject of extensive study by various workers. In the present investigation we report the measurement of our dc conductivity data on doped polyaniline system containing 0.0,0.04M,O.IM and 0.3M of H/sub 3/PO/sub 4/ in the temperature range 77-300K. A temperture dependent activation energy has been observed for all the samples and the conductivity data could be well explained by using Mott's variable range hopping(VRH) mechanism. Evaluation of various Mott's parameters confirm the existence of small polaron in polyaniline.
