Abstract

It was found that the ferromagnetic enhancement in the paramagnetic Curie temperature in Gd monopnictides is very weak compared with doped Eu chalcogenides with the similar amount of electrons. Magnetic resistivity is also unusually small with nearly equal amount of mobilities for electrons and holes. This anomalous behavior was explained by near cancellation of the d-f exchange interaction and the p-f scattering through p-f mixing with opposite sign. The cancellation dose not occur in metals but occurs in low carrier density systems with small scattering wave vectors. Symmetry conserving characteristics is also significant for the mixing process in low carrier density systems.
