Abstract

A new method is proposed which use optimization modules of finite element established by Ansys Parametric Design Language program to inverse rock mechanics parameters of surrounding rock with the logging data of casing deformation. Therefore the rock mechanics parameters of surrounding rock can be obtained by this back-analysis method based on the elastoplastic deformation analysis of casing. The relation among angle of internal friction, cohesion, maximum horizontal principal stress and minimum horizontal principal stress which can be determined by Mohr-Coulomb failure theory is applied to back-analysis. The new approach is presented to solve the uniqueness of mechanics parameters. The method makes it possible to inverse rock mechanics parameters in the formation where the data of rock mechanics parameters measured are scarce and is more efficient than the traditional method
