Abstract

Almond skin powder (ASP) is organic kitchen waste material which has highest strength to the weight ratio. Lot of researchers has worked and developed composites by mixing ASP with different polymers but very less work has been done on development of functional prototypes from the composite. In the present study, the composite prototypes are developed using virgin polymer PA6 mixed with 10% ASP. Four metamaterials and two cubic pattern prototypes have been prepared for mechanical strength analysis. A comparative study with virgin PA6 and ASP reinforced PA6 prototypes four metamaterials and two single pattern flexural samples has been carried out. Metamaterial samples of composite material fabricated using Zig-zag, Triangular, Zig-Zag pattern showed maximum Modulus of Toughness.
