Abstract

Asphalt concrete has good viscoelasticity, impermeability and durability, which is very suitable for the requirements of high-speed railway substructure. The stress and deformation characteristics of track-asphalt concrete-subgrade system under periodic temperature and train loading were studied. The results indicate that the fatigue life of asphalt concrete structure is much longer than the actual number of train actions. The temperature effect is the main reason for forced tension of asphalt concrete layer at the base plate joints. Laying 1.2 m composite geomembrane on both sides of structural joint can reduce the tensile strain by 60% and effectively improve the stress state.
