Abstract

New Concrete construction we need increase in efficiency of mechanical properties of concrete like compressive strength, flexural strength. At the same time increase external effect like loads, salts and Acids. In this paper we are study the effect of acids (H2SO4) on mechanical properties of concrete. From experimental results we find decrease in ultimate load capacity due to effect of acids. We used (10 mg/l), (20 mg/l) and (30 mg/l) from acids. Decrease in compressive strength for normal concrete for cylinder test with (10%, 20%, 30%) from sulfuric acid about (-14.71, -29.43, -50.56) respectively while increase in compressive strength with (0%) from sulfuric acid about (3.77).Decrease in compressive strength for reactive power concrete for cylinder test with (10%, 20%, 30%) from sulfuric acid about (-5.97, -13.54, -19.52) respectively while increase in compressive strength with (0%) from sulfuric acid about (4.78).
