Abstract

This article presents a study of mechanical properties of multilayer steel materials after the static, impact and cyclic tests, and evaluation of stress and strain behavior of such materials. The studies have shown an increase in the strength, impact strength and the fatigue life with the increase of the number of layers. Also, it has been shown, that high impact strength is maintained down to cryogenic temperatures. That indicates an absence of a definite point for the ductile-brittle transition within such materials. The studies of the stress and strain behavior of multilayer steel materials have shown that the rolling forces increase effect is specific for the production of such materials.
