Abstract

Abstract This work is done to check the effectiveness of Aluminum and its various matrix composites give prevalent mechanical and physical properties under the influence of graphene oxide as reinforcing material. As we know that aluminum and its alloys have many applications in fields like vehicle industry, aviation, protection, sports, gadgets, bio-clinical and other modern intentions are turning out to be basic throughout the previous a very long while due to their improved physical and mechanical properties, for example, light weight, high quality, great consumption obstruction, flexibility, and so forth., This paper explains about the similar mechanical properties of Al 6061 Aluminum Alloy with Al 6061 – graphene oxide Composite of various wt%. Al 6061 aluminum composite is strengthened with 0.5, 0.75, 1.0 wt level of graphene oxide (GO) particles through powder metallurgy technique with ideal sintering temperature. The composites were then characterized by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM)). Mechanical properties like Micro hardness, Compressive strength were broke down at different weight rate proportions. Use of GO particles to the Al matrix caused expanding of resistance in wear; mechanical hardness and it quite double the hardness. The outcomes uncover that the Metal Matrix Composite (MMC's) containing 1.0 wt% fortification molecule has improved mechanical properties contrasted with others. Tribological investigation was done by using pin on disc tribometer. This combination of Al6061 and graphene oxide composite is suitable for high friction and wear formation in mechanical working of automobiles, resistance to load in structural applications of Al6061, making of various parts of automobile in recent changes as the selection of new effective materials.
