Abstract
私は1970年にアメリカからStrength of Biological Materials(生物強弱学)という本を出版したが, これに対して多数の書評が外国雑誌に掲載された. たとえば, アメリカのMichigan大学のV.L.Roberts博士は生物力学の文献としてはなはだ貴重なものであり, これの利用性は非常に大きいといい, カナダのMcGill大学のS. B. La ng博士は生物材料を取り扱う科学者には研究の発想の泉となるといい, スコットランドのStrathclyde大学のJ. H. Evans博士は合成生物材料の研究者には非常に貴重な指針になるといい, オーストリアのGraz医科大学のW. Rosenkranz博士は器官組織の研究者には非常な興味をそそるといい,チェコスロバキアのZ.Bohdanecky博士は代用器官の研究者には貴重なデータを提供するといっている.今回は,この本から人の各種器官組織の機械的特性について摘録してみることにした.
