Abstract

Because brain tissue is immersed in cerebrospinal fluid, and studies such as TBI (traumatic brain injury) include impact mechanical properties of brain tissue, the constitutive relation of brain tissue needs to consider both solution environment effect and strain rate effect. In this article, we systematically study the effects of different external environments and different strain rates on the mechanical behavior of porcine brain tissue. Furthermore, a constitutive equation considering the above effects is proposed, which may well depict stress-strain relations of porcine brain tissue under these effects. Our work will have significant reference value for related research in biomedical engineering.
