Abstract
Paper is to study thermal and the aim of this mechanical properties of chicken feather reinforced epoxy composites. Chicken feathers are naturally available waste, when dumped results in blockage of sewage systems. Chicken feather reinforced epoxy composites are prepared using Hand layup process. Mechanical and thermal properties are found as per ASTM standards. 10 % Improvement in mechanical properties and enhanced thermal properties are observed in these composites. Various mechanical and thermal properties like tensile strength, impact strength, Thermo gravimetric analysis, Fourier transformation infrared spectroscopy test etc., are performed and the properties are evaluated. The typical applications are to be found as Acoustic insulation materials.
