Abstract

Environmental degradation of the materials used is the factor that hinders all the humans due to its properties. Materials such as plastics had a great impact on the environmental pollution. In order to reduce the usage of plastics and to manufacture material with high strength, natural fibers reinforcements were done composites. Synthetic fibers addition will affect the rate of degradation. So, we are using natural fibers in order to help avoiding environmental pollution. In this research we have taken the agro waste from different food industries such as banana, sisal and date palm fibers (with different percentage of additions) to fabricate our composites. The composites were prepared with compression molding technique. The obtained fibers of all three natural products were chopped to 6 mm, 8 mm and 10 mm and separated with the usage of sieves. The mechanical tastings such as impact, tensile and compression was taken as per the ASTM standards and results showed that, the properties improved with the addition of 3 natural fibers. The water absorption tests were also performed to identify the best natural composites for its application in hydrophobic environment. Overall identification was, the properties of the obtained hybrid natural composites improved with the increased fiber length.
