Abstract

During the past year, Beech Aircraft has completed a series of tests designed to provide data on the single-phase flow of liquid hydrogen through transfer lines, Since it was necessary to determine the phase condition of the fluid, a vaporliquid ratio metering device was required. The dielectric constant of liquid hydrogen is 22% greater than the dielectric constant of hydrogen gas; therefore, the use of a capacitance-type vapor—liquid ratio meter provided a solution to the problem.
