Abstract

A method for measuring the generation threshold of a passively Q-switched diode-pumped pulsed solid-state laser from the frequency-watt characteristic, which reflects the dependence of the laser-pulse repetition frequency on the absorbed pumping power, is proposed. The results of measuring the generation threshold of lasers based on Y3Al5O12:Nd3+ and Ca3Ga2Ge3O12:Nd3+ crystals are presented.
