Abstract

The purpose of this study was to provide more comprehensive and relined empirical data on the outcomes of Laboratory Training. The study measured and evaluated the outcomes or changes of a typical five day laboratory with as much experimental rigor as possible within the situational limitations. Did the managers who attended the Sensitivity Training Laboratory show statistically significant rating changes on a theorized sequence of outcomes of fourteen training objectives? The theorized outcomes require first, an increase in self-understanding, then self-respect, then in the acceptance of others before skills in human relationships can be increased. Moreover, the study was designed to measure whether the measured changes on these fourteen objectives were maintained as a result of further training and counseling in the work organization two months after the laboratory.
