Abstract
Abstract We have extended the working equations to determine molecular and thermal diffusion coefficients by the beam deflection technique to multicomponent mixtures. In the past, simultaneous determination of molecular and thermal diffusion coefficients have only been achieved for binaries. Our proposed approach requires transient measurements from (N - 1) laser beams of different wavelengths. The beam deflection technique shows promise of being faster and more accurate than the current techniques to determine molecular diffusion coefficients.
