Abstract

A new method of measurement of the drift mobility of organic ions in air at atmospheric pressure is proposed that is based on the surface ionization of compounds in a drift diode. Using the proposed method, it is possible to determine the drift mobility of organic ions in air at atmospheric pressure and detect components in mixtures of organic compounds. The drift mobility has been experimentally determined for ions of several nitrogen-containing organic compounds.
