Abstract

The possibility is shown of controlling rising groundwater at sites composed of slightly permeable, silt-clay soils. Ways of decreasing water losses into the soil by reducing water consumption, monitoring consumption and diversion of water, removal of water-containing structures and networks to the surface, etc. are suggested. Construction of blanket drains in the base of structures is also recommended.
