Abstract

PCOS is associated with insulin resistance, but the best way to clinically assess this is unclear. Although PCOS presents in adolescence, little data exists on measures of insulin resistance and metabolic changes for adolescents with PCOS. This study aims to assess correlation of fasting and stimulated measures of glucose, insulin and metabolic and endocrine markers with insulin sensitivity obtained by minimal model assessment of the insulin-modified frequently sampled IV glucose tolerance test (FSIVGTT) in obese adolescents with PCOS.
