Abstract

1. For constructional connections as well as for static loads and for dynamic loads with a cycle characteristic of not less than P=0.55–0.7, an effective solution is the use of bolts installed on the completed foundations (double, self-anchored, epoxy-glued). Based on economic considerations and on the strength characteristics of the connections, the diameter of these bolts should not be larger than 48 mm. 2. For connections subjected to dynamic loading with a cycle characteristic of less than 0.7 it is convenient to use permanent bolts with washers (l=15 d); for especially important cases free bolts (l=30 d) are recommended. 3. The statistical analysis of anchored equipment at different projects indicated that not less than 60% of all anchored connections can be made with the new types of short bolts, installed in holes drilled in the completed foundations, without any conductor devices. They will undoubtedly find wide applications in the metallurgical, machine-building, and automobile industries, among others. 4. In order to introduce on a wide scale the new effective types of anchor bolts into the design and construction practices, it is convenient:
