Abstract

Abstract Spectral values of the downward hemispheric diffuse and total flux densities at eight wavelengths were measured in Tucson, Arizona following the 1982 eruption of the El Chichon volcano. Characteristics of the volcanic dust (including optical depth, the Junge shaping constant of the size distribution, and the range of the imaginary index) were derived from these data.
