Abstract

The dissector, a detector of high-speed phenomena that uses a stroboscopic method of electro-optical chronography has been set up in LURE by Popik and Zinine for the Super-ACO storage-ring free-electron laser. Its installation and performance are described. It allows several phenomena to be studied either for the stored bunches in the storage ring or for the free-electron laser itself (synchronisation of the light pulses and positron bunches, modification of the distribution of the positron bunch stored in Super-ACO due to the laser interaction in the optical klystron, and the laser micropulse structure itself).
