Abstract
Measurements of total kinetic energy of H 2 released to H fragments connected to the n=2 dissociation limit are presented. These results were obtained with fast ion beam and laser optical translational spectroscopy. The observed data revealed over 2.8 eV of kinetic energy and confirmed the involvement of the first Q 1 doubly excited states having the H(1s) + H( n=2) diabatic limit, in the dissociation process of high vibrational excited Rydberg states.
