Abstract

The work function of single walled carbon nanotubes intercalated with AgI was measured in vacuum conditions using standard local Kelvin probe force microscopy technique and height variation technique, the obtained value is of Φ = 5 . 13 eV. The detailed discussion and examples of application of height variation technique to reveal the electronic structure of composites are given. • The work function of carbon nanotubes intercalated AgI has been measured locally. • Two techniques were used: DC KPFM and variation heights technique. • Calibration of the variation heights technique has been performed. • Examples of application of variation heights technique are presented.
