Abstract

In this paper are presented pressure versus temperature observations measured using a recently available constant volume method apparatus which is briefly described. The temperature range of measurements was from 203.15 K to 298.15 K and the pressure ranged up to 50 MPa. Four quasi-isochores and six quasi-isotherms were measured on pure liquid methanol ranging in specific volumes from 1.1387 cm 3 g to 1.2683 cm 3 g . The measured data on pure liquid methanol both on quasi-isothermal and quasi-isochoric paths are presented. Comparisons between the measured data and five published equations of state for liquid methanol are also presented.
