Abstract

Abstract The heat capacity of a single crystal of praseodymium has been measured between 1 and 6K in magnetic fields from 0–4T applied in the crystallographic b direction. The conduction electron contribution is far larger than that expected from band structure caclulations, and furthermore is field-dependent. This may be due to a new electron mass enhancement of magnetic origin.
