Abstract

SBS phase conjugation is a widely used technique with Q-switched pulses to correct aberrations in amplifiers. For a mildly aberrated beam with peak power >100 kW, simple bulk focusing in an appropriate medium to generate SBS works sufficiently well. We have undertaken a study of reflectivity and phase conjugate (PC) fidelity of light guides as a function of input power, angle of incidence with respect to the guide axis, and input beam polarization.
