Abstract

Accurate lifetime measurements have been carried out on the first levels in the nuclei 102Ru, 106,108pd, and first 5 2 and 9 2 in 103Rh, 107,109Ag, by the recoil-distance method. Deduced ratios between reduced E2 transition probabilities B( E2) in the same or neighbouring nuclei have been compared to the predictions of collective “geometrical” and boson “algebraical” models. A reduction of collectivity between neighbouring even-even and odd- A nuclei is clearly established.
