Abstract
Critical field curves and quenching curves for a variety of type II superconductors of B1 (NaCl type) and A15 (β-W type) compounds have been measured. The critical field curves have been evaluated for the pertinent parameters of type II super-conductivity. Comparison of the shape of the critical field curves and their initial slope with recent theories by Helfand and Werthamer results in a good agreement.
