Abstract
A summary is presented of recent work in vacuum-u.v.-spectroscopy carried out at the Max-Planck-Institute für Physik in Munich. Measurements of transition probabilities and spectral line shapes have been performed in the wavelength region from 1000 to 2000 Å. The experimental method is described and results are presented for the wing profile absorption coefficient of the Lyman-α line. These results are compared with predictions of various theories.
