Abstract

The vacancy transfer probabilities of K to L 1, L 2 and L 3 shells were measured using a new approach. Those measuring L X-ray yields from targets excited by 59.5-keV incident photons above the K edge of elements were detected with a high-resolution Si(Li)-detector. For comparison with experimental results, using available data on radiative and radiationless transitions theoretical calculations were made. The radiative transitions of these elements were observed from the relativistic Hartree–Slater model. The radiationless transitions were observed from the Dirac–Hartree–Slater model. The measured results were found to be in good agreement with theoretical values.
