Abstract

Many operations have been evolved for correction of thoracic deformities. Comparisons of the results have been hampered by lack of a method sufficiently accurate to permit objective and reproducible measurements of the thoracic cage. A special measuring apparatus was, therefore, constructed and has proved to be satisfactorily accurate. The apparatus and its use are described.
