Abstract

AbstractThis chapter describes the first measurement of the total electron neutrino cross section on argon using the MicroBooNE detector. As explained in Sect. 3.5, only one other measurement of the electron neutrino cross section on argon exists which is based on a sample consisting of 13 selected electron neutrino candidates. The total cross section is a quantity that is useful for understanding the overall rate of electron neutrino interactions for a given flux spectrum making it an effective first cross-check of theory predictions.
