Abstract
The thermal neutron induced fission cross section of /sup 243/Am has been measured using a very intense, very clean thermal neutron beam at the Institut Laue-Langevin, Grenoble. Great care has been taken to ensure the purity of the sample material. As a result of these measurements, a value of (74 +- 4) mb has been obtained for the /sup 243/Am(n/sub th/,f) cross section.
