Measurement of the spectral line positions in the 2v3 R(6) manifold of methane

Abstract

A spectral line list for methane in the 6075.3–6078 cm−1 region with the intensity cutoff of 1 × 10−26 cm/molecule at 296 K is presented. We have accurately measured 96 line positions by using cavity ring-down spectroscopy with temperature-controlled cavity. The accuracy of most line positions exceeds that of previous studies. The improvement is due mainly to the accurate line positions obtained from recording high-resolution saturated absorption (Lamb-dip) spectra.
