Abstract

The magnetic moment of the mirror nucleus 33 Cl(T 1 2 = 2.51 s, I π = 3 2 + ) has been measured using a β-NMR technique. Produced via the d( 32S, 33Cl)n reaction, the 33Cl nuclei were polarized using the titled foil technique, and implanted in a NaCl single crystal inside a magnetic field. Nuclear polarization, observed through asymmetric β-decay, was destroyed via resonant rf excitation. The 33Cl magnetic moment, corrected for diamagnetism, is μ = +0.7523(16) nm.
