Abstract

In the optically populated state 2 F 5 2 , E 5 2 of Tm 2+ in CaF 2 an electron nuclear double resonnce (ENDOR) experiment was performed. The spin resonances were monitored via the magnetic circular polarization of emission. The ligand hyperfine structure constants A s, A p of the first shell of (fluorine) neighbours were obtained to be A s = ∓ 4.83 (3) MHz, A p = ± 3.59 (3) MHz providing the first ENDOR data of an optically excited state of an impurity centre.
