Abstract
Measurements of dynamic stiffness were performed on three samples of material (based on recycled rubber) used as a mat for railway track applications. Measurements were performed at three static pre-loads, 0.03, 0.06 and 0.1 MPa, in the frequency range 10–100 Hz. A steady increase in dynamic stiffness with increasing frequency was observed in the samples studied, ranging from 0.1 to 0.23 Nmm −3. At the same time, the measured dynamic stiffness shifted to higher absolute values with increasing static pre-load.
