Abstract

The cross section of the 12C(n, γ l3C reaction at stellar energy is important for discussing the nucleosynthesis of intermediate mass nuclei in inhomogeneous big-bang models. By detecting prompt γ- rays from a captured state the reaction cross section was measured; 16.8 2.1 μ b was obtained. This value favours the nucleosynthesis of intermediate-mass nuclei in inhomogeneous big-bang models.
