Abstract

The results of an experiment are reported which measured the circular-polarization correlation of photons emitted in the 91 P 1→73 S 1→63 P 0 cascade of atomic mercury. The results appear to be in general agreement with the predictions of quantum theory. They are compared with the predictions by several inequalities derived for various alternatives to quantum theory.
