Abstract

There appear to be two approaches to research on the monitoring or measuring of state variables. One employs empirical procedures using sensor or software analysis, while the other uses a method based on estimation theory and mathematical models. In this paper, first the systems for measuring biochemical reaction processes are briefly described. Then, some methods of measuring state variables proposed by the authors are explained.
