Abstract

Abstract Transverse spin transport is measured in a 0.1% 3He4He mixture polarized by an 8T magnetic field. Spin diffusion as well as spin rotation effects are observed by exciting spin-wave modes in a small spherical cavity. A preliminary analysis of the data shows that the spin-rotation parameter Ω int τ hu increases continuously as the temperature is lowered through the degeneracy temperature TF. This appears to resolve a long-standing disagreement between theory and earlier experiments.
