Abstract

Abstract We have measured polarization transfer observables Ky′y (θ), Kx′x (θ) and Kx′z(θ) for proton-proton scattering at 25.68 MeV with an accuracy of 0.007–0.012. Phase shift analyses of these data together with differential cross section and analyzing power data at the same energy yield an essentially model independent determination of the 1S0, 3PJ and e2 parameters at this energy. These parameters provide a test of nucleon-nucleon potential models and favour Paris and Nijmegen potentials.
