Abstract
The modified enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to determine the relative quantities of class-specific antibodies to Pasteurella haemolytica. IgG 1, IgG 2 and IgA were present in significantly higher quantities in bronchoalveolar washings (BAW), but in decreasing quantities, respectively; IgM was present in very low amounts. IgM, IgG 1 and IgG 2 were present in serum, again in decreasing quantities, respectively. IgA antibody quantities were lowest in serum. The indirect antibody ELISA was found to be superior to the indirect bacterial agglutination (IBA) technique for determining antibody titres against P. haemolytica.
