Abstract
Formulas for calculating activity due to generalized intermittent irradiation are derived. Results of neutron cross section measurements performed with gold and indium foils activated in a nuclear reactor by various patterns of intermittent irradiation are reported. Applicability of the procedure to pulsed fusion machines is pointed out and briefly discussed.
